Melvin Smiley, a likable assassin, is often taken advantage of by his ruthless co-workers in the hitman industry. When their latest job goes wrong, Melvin takes the blame because the target is the goddaughter of their crime boss. Meanwhile, Melvin has to hide his true profession from his unsuspecting fiancée, Pam, while trying to stay alive.
