Synopsis
In the harsh winter of 1944-45 during World War II, the western Netherlands suffer a famine leading many to move east to find food. Fourteen-year-old Michiel eagerly wants to join the Dutch resistance, despite his father's efforts as village mayor to maintain peace and order.
