Synopsis
In 1957 Germany, Lola, a cabaret singer-prostitute, desires wealth, property, and love. She manipulates a corrupt contractor and a virtuous commissioner to climb the social ladder. Fassbinder's film, shot in vibrant colors, satirizes capitalism and pays tribute to The Blue Angel.
