Synopsis
In 1987 Harlem, 16-year-old Precious Jones, an African American girl, faces a bleak existence. Pregnant for the second time by her absent father, she endures emotional and physical abuse from her volatile mother. Despite good grades, Precious struggles with illiteracy in a tumultuous school environment.
